The Iskra handpan has been known to be among the best handpans made in the world. The Iskra is handmade by Sean Beever in Aurora, Colorado. Starting from just two flat sheets of high grade alloy steel, the Iskra is scultped into beautiful forms that emit sonic purity under the soft strikes of a players hands.
As mentioned, the steel used in the modern Iskra handpan is a special type of alloy steel, usually used in the aerospace industry for its rust resistance and strength. It is a perfect blend of sustain, warmth, and playability.
